Carrigaline United AFC

Carrigaline United AFC is a large County Cork soccer club based in the local Carrigaline community. The club was established 1972. The first soccer team to represent Carrigaline Utd was a Junior team in the Cork AUL Division 3 at a football pitch called Pottery Field. The club currently has in excess of 500 footballers and is represented at all age levels. Carrigaline United has soccer teams competing in the Cork AUL, the Munster Senior League and the Cork Schoolboys League. The club has had many successes on the football pitch over the years however it took ten years before the first trophy was secured.

Carrigaline United has developed an excellent football facility at Ballea Park which was officially opened in June 1985. Ballea Park continues to be a work-in-progress and as the facilities are enhanced the club occasionally needs to 'borrow' pitches from other clubs and sporting organisations. On occasions Carrigaline play soccer matches at the local rugby club at Ballyorban while one of their own pitches is being redeveloped.

Directions from Carrigaline : Take the Carrigaline to Cork road, pass the Shannon Park roundabout, pass the Maxol station on the right. Then take the right hand turn at the end of Carrs Hill go 600 yards and turn right again at bend, another 600 yards and turn sharp left, a half mile further on take the next right turn and the entrance to the football pitch is just up at the top of the road.
