Dundrum Athletic FC

Dundrum Athletic Football Club, formerly known as Churchtown Boys, was founded in 1973 by local priest Father McCabe. In the beginning the soccer club had just one schoolboy football team. The team played its' home matches in Churchtown but after the loss of their home pitch the club was renamed DRFC Boys (named after Dundrum Family Recreation Centre who provided a football pitch in Ballinteer).

In the 1970's the club lost it's only team kit when the black sack that contained the kit was accidentally collected by refuse collectors. In those days money was very scarce and it took some determined fundraising to replace the team jerseys.

In the 1980's the club was renamed yet again to Dundrum Athletic Football Club.

In a major development the soccer club set out in 2000 to build it's own modern club house and dressing rooms. These are now complete and cater for 14 schoolboy and 2 senior teams that compete in the Leinster Senior League, the South Dublin Football League and the, Dublin and District Schoolboys League.

The Dundrum AFC motto is "In Hoc Signo Vinces" which means "under this sign you shall conquer"
