Home Farm FC

Home Farm FC is a north Dublin based football club. The soccer club was formed in 1928 in the Drumcondra and Whitehall areas. Mr. Leo Fitzmaurice arranged a street soccer league for young boys that lived in the Home Farm Road / Drumcondra Road / Hollybank Road and Ormonde Road before Home Farm had been established. This 'soccer league' became the basis upon which a Dublin football institution was established. Home Farm FC came about from an amalgamation of the Richmond Road team and the Home Farm Road team in 1928. In those early days the club played home matches on the rhubarb patch behind the current Skylon Hotel.

Home Farm gained temporary access to a pitch Griffith Avenue which required leveling and had to be cleared of stones. An initial fundraising effort garnered twenty-eight shillings or €1.78 which was used to acquire a set of football black and gold jerseys. In the next season the club switched to the current colours of blue and white hoops.

Home Farm FC is highly regarded and enjoys an international reputation in the world of soccer for producing very talented footballers. Products of the club include: Liam Tuohy, Darren O'Dea, Owen Garvan, Gary Kelly, Ronnie Whelan, Jackie Carey, Liam Whelan, Richard Dunne, Nicky Byrne, Graham Kavanagh, Gareth Farrelly, Paddy Farrell, Kenny Cunningham, Terry Conroy, Joe Carolan, Ray Brady, Eddie Bailham, Pat Canavan.

The club currently play home soccer matches at Albert College and St Mobhi Road in Glasnevin, Dublin 9.
