Shamrock Celtic FC

Shamrock Celtic was formed in 2006 by Alan Tighe who brought in Anthony McCausland to assist with team affairs. After a difficult first season on the football pitch the club made steady progress including the formation of a schoolboy section. Celtic also received clubhouse facilities from Dublin City Council. Results began to improve however with players playing for both the Saturday and Sunday teams it proved too much for the promising start to continue. The third season brought convincing wins against teams from superior leagues plus credible victories over opposition from the premier divisions in rival leagues. This platform enabled a long unbeaten run which saw Shamrock Celtic reach the semi-final of the Frank Roe Cup, winners of the Unidare Cup and very narrowly missing out on the League.
