Shamrock Rovers FC

Shamrock Rovers FC is a League of Ireland soccer football club based in Tallaght, Dublin 24. The club was formed in 1901 in the Ringsend area of south Dublin and was named after the local Shamrock Avenue. In the 1920's the club secured it's own grounds on Milltown Road which came to known as Glenmalure Park. Shamrock Rovers spent a very eventful, and at times very successful 61 years at Glenmalure. In 2009, following a nomadic period, the club secured a long term tenancy at the newly built Tallaght Stadium from South Dublin County Council. Rovers last match in Glenmalure Park and their first match in Tallaght Stadium were both against Sligo Rovers.
