St Joseph's Boys AFC

St Joseph's Boys AFC is a Sallynoggin soccer football club based on the south side of Dublin. The club was formed in 1953 as a schoolboy soccer club. The club's first match was played in the Phoenix Park. St Joseph's has always been a progressive club and it opened it's clubhouse, dressing rooms and showers in 1964. This football facility was further enhanced in 1975. In one of the club's most successful years on the soccer pitch St Joseph's Boys won the FAI youth cup and the Leinster Junior Cup in 1978. The club was awarded the title of Team of the Year by the Leinster Senior League - LSL.

St Joseph's Boys AFC has achieved success at every level that it has competed at over the years and has produced a number of top class footballers including: Andy Keogh (Wolves); Graham Ward (Wolves); Peter Murphy (Blackburn); Paul McShane (Sunderland); Clive Clarke (Stoke City); and Stephen Brennan (Newcastle). St Joseph's has established partnerships with Bray Wanderers and Premier League team Newcastle United.

Currently the club provides a soccer outlet for over 400 members producing 29 teams at all age levels. St Joseph's Boys AFC teams compete in the Dublin and District Schoolboys League and they play their home soccer matches on their football pitches at Pearse (formerly DNG) Park, Sallynoggin, County Dublin
