Dundrum is a suburb
of south Dublin. The postal code for the area is Dublin 14. The
ancient name for Dundrum was Taney. Nearby suburbs include Churchtown,
Cabinteely and Rathfarnham.
Dundrum was one of the
first areas in Ireland to open a dedicated shopping centre. This
centre has been largely been supplanted by the much bigger Dundrum
Town Centre shopping precinct. The area can be accessed via the
M50 motorway exiting at junction 13.
Tour de France winner
Stephen Roche is the most famous sporting personality to emerge
from Dundrum.
