Monkstown is a suburb
of south County Dublin. It was originally called Carrickbrennan
but takes its current name from Cistercian monks who built Monkstown
Castle in the 13th century.
The area is bordered
by Blackrock to the north and Dun Laoghaire to the south. It is
served by regular buses and the DART.
