Meath & District League Match ResultsThe Meath & District League was founded to provided a structured league system for all football clubs based in Meath and surrounding areas. Currently the MDL has clubs form counties Meath, Cavan, Louth, and Monaghan. Latest Meath & District League Soccer Club Results Dromin united consolidated their position at the top of division with an 8-0 thumping of bottom side Navan Town. Niall Conlon helped himself to hat trick along with a Stuart Reynolds and Paul Johnson double, with Derek Rogers completing the scoring. Following close on their tails are Navan Cosmos and Kells-Blackwater who kept up their unbeaten runs when they each claimed maximum points in closely fought encounters at home to Slane Wanderers, and Glaslough Villa respectively. For the past few seasons matches involving Cosmos and Slane have been very close with usually the honours ending up being shared or no more than goal either way. Sundays game was no exception, with sides deadlocked at the break and after a spell of early dominance in the second half centre forward Thomas Adamchyk was on hand to give them the lead after 55 minutes. Fifteen minutes later Shamck Biernat made it 2-0, but Slane responded quickly to keep the tie in the balance right up to the final whistle. Kells Blackwater had to rely on Gary Arkins winner midway through the second half against Glaslough after the sides were level 2-2, after Danny Mc-Govern and John Rennicks had scored earlier for them. In the premier division Woodview Celtic kept up their 100% record with their eight straight win, a 3-0 success at home to Albion Rovers. Defending champions Rock Celtic kept in touch winning 2-1 away to Trim Celtic where Brian Glboy, and Paddy Quinn scored. At the bottom battle hardened relegation fighters Torro united secured a valuable point in a 1-1 draw at home to Marsh Celtic the goal coming from Aidan Mc-Keever, after Barry Dyas had given the Drogheda side the lead. Kells Celtic kept up their great form of late in divison two winning 5-1 away to Electro. Two Goals from Paul Smith and Brian Hanlon was added to with one from Charlie Usher. Bailieboro Celtic qualified for the latter stages of the ONeill Shield defeating Trim Town 2-0 with Sean Clerkin netting twice. The greater part of the first rounbd matches in the Tully Bookmakers Challenge cup takes place next weekend. Kentstown Rovers became the first side to qualify for the next round when they defeated Navan Rovers 4-1. A couple of early goals from David Doyle was followed with efforts by Derek and David Bowens.
