Airtricity League of Ireland - Premier
League Table
The League of Ireland Premier League
- now known as the Airtricity League - includes ten teams. Cork
City and Derry City were relegated from the Premier League to the
First Division due to financial irregularities. UCD as First Division
champions, and Sporting Fingal who qualified for promotion via the
play-offs, were promoted to the Premier League. The team that finishes
in last position will be automatically relegated from the Premier
League. The teams that finish in second and third places in the
First Division will enter a play-off competition with the teams
that finish in eight and ninth position in the Premier League to
determine who will fill the last Premier League position.
