Billy McDevitt & LiverpoolBilly McDevitt made his Liverpool debut on 17 November 1923 against Aston Villa. In front of 25,000 fans at Villa Park the teams played out a 0-0 draw. Also included in the team that day was fellow Northern Ireland man, the great goalkeeper Elisha Scott. McDevitt appeared in the return match against Villa at Anfield a week later when Liverpool won 1-0. McDevitt made just one more appearance in the 1923/24 season. On the 1 March 1924 he was a member of the Liverpool team that succumbed 3-1 to Arsenal at Highbury in London. Harry Chambers scored the only Liverpool goal. Billy McDevitt made just one appearance for the Merseyside club during his short Anfield career. On 18 October 1924 he played in 4-1 home win over Sheffield United. Reds. In 1925 Billy McDevitt left Liverpool to join Swansea City having
played just four matches and no goals scored.
