Brian Mooney & LiverpoolBrian Mooney made his Liverpool debut on 7 October 1986 against Fulham. He came on as a second half substitute for Jim Beglin in the second round of the League Cup at Craven Cottage in London. Liverpool won the match through goals from Steve McMahon, an own goal by Fulham's Paul Parker, and Jan Molby. This was Brian Mooney's one and only appearance for the Anfield Road club. He subsequently went out on loan to Welsh club Wrexham. Unable to make a breakthrough into the Liverpool first team he was sold to Preston North End in October 1987 for a transfer fee of £80,000. |
