Patrick Kennedy & Manchester UnitedPaddy Kennedy made his Manchester United debut on 2 October 1954 in a First Division match against Wolverhampton Wanderers. Almost 40,000 fans looked on as United lost 4-2 at Molineux. United's two goals were scored by Dennis Viollet and Jack Rowley. Despite enjoying FA Youth Cup final success in 1953, also against Wolves, Kennedy was an unfortunate victim of the fact that there was a plethora of outstanding young footballers on United's books at the time. Paddy Kennedy spent the next couple of years playing in the United reserves. With little prospect of further first team action Paddy Kennedy left Manchester United in August 1956 to join Blackburn Rovers. |
