2010 Premier League Match Results – Airtricity League Series 3

The results for the third series of matches in the Airtricity League of Ireland Premier League are detailed below.

At the newly renamed Hunky Dory Park Drogheda United and Bohemians played out an exciting affair on Friday 19th March.

Following a somewhat boring first half, during which Bohs took the lead through a Jason Byrne header, the game really came to life in the second half. An equaliser for Drogheda came in the 65th minute when Paul Crowley scored from close range. The Drogs went on to take the lead soon afterwards through a penalty scored by Joe Kendrick. Drogheda were reduced to ten men when Kendrick was sent off after 85 minutes for a second bookable offence. The Gypsies took advantage by equalising through Jason Byrne’s second goal on the night.

Following this the Louth team was reduced to nine men when John Flood saw red and then quickly things went

from bad to worse when Bohemians took the lead in the 89th minute when Gareth McGlynn scored a spectacular third. Bohemians sealed the victory in this dramatic affair when Paddy Madden scored a fourth from close range.
