Ardmore Rovers SFC

Ardmore Rovers SFC is a Wicklow based football club that was formed in 1979. This Bray club was founded by Aidan & Eileen O’Donoghue and Shay Lynch. From humble beginnings Rovers now fields 25 soccer teams. Ardmore’s main playing facility is at Ballywaltrim however some of the junior teams play at St. Cronins on Vevay Road, St. Thomas on Novara Road, and St. Brendans across the road from Woodbrook Golf Club.

Over the years the club has experienced success on the football pitch and indeed has produced players that have gone on to play for some of the underage Republic of Ireland teams and in the Premier Division of the Eircom League.

In 1999 Ardmore Rovers formalised a relationship with English football club Charlton Athletic. Rovers acted as a feeder club to Charlton and players and coaches benefited through coaching clinics, sponsorship and equipment. One player from rovers went on to sign professional forms with Charlton. The relationship was terminated by mutual agreement in 2004.
